We Need Prayers This Week... Plz Read

At least read the story about Mario...


We had a crazy week-lots of blessings but a couple sad experiences.


There is a wonderful man that works at our service place. His name is Mike. He is like so cool! All the missionaries love him and we heard that he told other missionaries that we believe everything he believes but so much more! We have a pretty good relationship and we have talked about church before. I had the feeling to ask him what questions he had. He told us some but he had to go and said to come to his house later. So we went that evening and taught him and he really opened up! It went so well! Pray for him!!


On Saturday, we went to the Temple with Gabriel!! He saw some of our pamphlets and he contacted us and told us he was a member when he was young and wants to come back. His family has always told him about temples and we were able to take him for his first time ever! The spirit hit him so hard in the Celestial room and he started crying. We had a wonderful time with him and Brother Soderholm from the Branch! One of the coolest things was that it was his birthday!!! He told us it was one of the best birthdays he has ever had. He wants to get a recommend and visit as often as he can. Such a miracle we found him.

We reached out to our friend Mario this last Thursday and asked if he wanted to learn about temples. He said yes come over right now and for the first time, sent us his address. This was very very surprising. When we got there he was very drunk and was having a problem believing in God. He kept repeating,"Qien es El!!!"("Who is He," talking about God). We did all we could to help him but it didn't do much. The next day we got a call from his wife (who is in Salvador) saying that none of her family could get in contact with him and asked us to go check on him. So we went and he barely answered the door. He was very drunk again and it was very sad. We talked to him more and he told us goodbye and said he would never see us again because he was either going to meet God or the devil very soon. Elder Moye stepped out and called 2 brothers from the church who came quickly and helped calm him down. It all ended up well and one of the brothers from the church felt like he no longer was a threat to himself. Mario promised us he would come to church. We called him that morning and he said he wasn't drunk. Then he came very intoxicated. He came into the chapel and after the sacrament, he realized it was fast and testimony meeting and he went up and told the whole congregation he was going to either meet God or the devil. One of the same brothers from the previous day got up and brought him back to us. Then the brother went outside and called the police to come check on him to see if he was okay. He was arrested at church for Public Intoxication. This was very very sad. We prayed with him multiple times and did all we could to help. Unfortunately, at the end when he was getting arrested, he blamed it all on us. It was pretty devastating, but we know we did all we could to help him. We love him and his family very much. He got out of jail and his wife flew him to Salvador to be with his family thinking hopefully they can help him. Please pray for him. His wife texted us and told us when she gets back she wants to be taught with her son. That was a miracle. Please, please pray for them.


I have learned so much about how easy it is to love the people we teach. This experience felt like it was happening to one of my own family members. Please pray for them. I love all the people we meet so much. Every once and a while I'm going to make a prayer list. These are people I love so much. Please pray for them!

We had an amazing week!  We had an awesome lesson with Angel about commandments and different things like that and he was super into it. We also asked him how he was feeling about baptism and he said he was super excited. But he also said he was nervous for one thing....he's scared to get his hair wet. He gave us a little scare but it was pretty funny. We also had a lesson with Mario and Omar and they are so awesome! We talked about prayer and the spirit and they had so many questions-it was great! At the end Mario told us that his wife needs to hear all this (they care for someone and can't leave at the same time) and gave us her number to reach out and that has gone great as well. We also got to make papusas with them which were delicious!!! We had an exchange with our Zone Leaders this week and that went great. It was super fun to see them again! This last Saturday was 2 years since my friend Dallin passed away and that was hard to think of, but it is helpful to know the won...

Temple!!!!

We had 3 temple trips this week!!! We worked two shifts for the open house of the Virginia Richmond Temple. The first started on Wednesday evening and it was amazing. I just loved feeling the spirit there. We were able to take some older people in wheelchairs through, it was a blessing. They are amazing and have great testimonies. Thursday morning Elder Moye and I got to the temple early and we were able to go inside when no one else was there and take a tour. We then got to sit in the Celestial room alone in a silent temple! What a miracle it was. I am so grateful for that experience. Sorry this email is a quick one I don't have much time. Saturday morning we got a text from Brenda (Angel's aunt) saying that they could go to the temple! It was the only day they could go! Another temple miracle. Ummm EARTHQUAKE!!

The mtc is wonderful! I am so busy all the time and it's awesome to be busy but I'm so tired! It's been a wonderful p-day, so nice to relax. I have been so surprised with the love that all the workers have for the Missionaries.  A lot of them like to mess around but even with that they are still so happy!  I met these two natives and it was super cool to talk to them in Spanish but I realized I'm not doing as good as I thought lol. It was super cool to meet them though.  Elder Hugo Montoya from the 70 came and spoke to us yesterday. At the end of his wonderful lesson, he let us all know he will be speaking in the first session of conference I believe. After he told us that he shook everyone's hand and I was one of the lasts so I shook his hand, grabbed his shoulder and said,"I hope we can all make you proud". So I am definitely going to be in his talk so be ready for that. Alright now for the earthquake. It's so crazy that this happened. September 19th...
