ANGELS BAPTISM!!!

Angel was baptized Saturday and confirmed Sunday and it was so amazing to see! Just his change over the weekend was huge and it was awesome. He had the faith to get baptized but I don't think he truly understood what receiving the Holy Ghost could do for him.

Angel is shy and doesn't show his emotions very well. He has been through a lot and it's taken a little bit of a toll on him. His mom passed away when he was 4 and his dad has been in prison for a while. During that time, Angel got into a gang and started to get into other bad things. One day Brenda, his Tia(aunt), decided to fly down and bring him home. So that is exactly what she did. After they got back she was thinking of taking him to church. She had been inactive since Covid and wasn't even very active before then. She had been going to the English ward. They were not on our records for the Spanish branch. We had just opened the area and had zero information for anyone besides 4 pieces of papers of member's names. We knocked on the doors of the inactive members while we had nothing else to do. We were 20 mintues late finishing up one day but I had the feeling to hit this house on the way back. We knocked and asked about someone named Ruby and then we met Tim, the Tio(uncle), and he gave us Brenda's number. (Ruby lived there for a month and her records never moved which was super weird.) But, after this we called Brenda and that's how it all started with teaching Angel. She had been praying about whether to take him to the English ward or the Spanish branch and then we called her. I love to be on this end of this wonderful miracle.

The day of the baptism, when Angel got out of the font, he gave me a huge hug. I asked what he just did and he said that he made a promise that he was always going to strive to be a better person so that he can become more like Christ. This was so awesome to hear! Then after he changed clothes, he walked out of the stall, slipped onto the floor and got his pants all wet. He said that he would definitely not forget his baptism day after that! It was very very funny. The next day he was confirmed and after the ordinance happened, he came and sat by me and leaned over and said," I felt it!" I said," Really!? What did it feel like?" He said,"I felt tingly from my head to my toes!" After that, I got to testify of the spirit and the power it has to guide us in our lives if we are ready for it.

What I learned from this, and I want you all to take, is that we need to stop taking the spirit for granted. So many people don't have what most of us have. To have the spirit always with us. We need to be worthy of it so we can have that guidance everyday! I love this and I love the spirit and how it works through me everyday to find and bless people. Feeling the spirit is so amazing and I invite you all to be worthy of it and to pray to have it help you every day!

Love you all so much!
