6 Months!!!!...And More Diligence
I hit 6 months on my mission this week! It's scary to know that I am a 1/4 of the way done! I don't like thinking about it. My comp is always upset that he only has 6 months left and I think I am just as scared with 18 left!
This last week I was super sick. On Tuesday, I was trying to go out and find, but Elder Moye told me "no" because apparently I looked like I was near death. He told me "when you throw up, you stay home". So Tuesday, we did all we could while we were home. On Wednesday and Thursday, we were able to go out and do all we could to find people-not much success but some potential people. Friday I was super sick again so we stayed home that day as well and had district counsel over zoom. We also were able to talk with our Mission President about our area! Elder Moye has been to almost all of the areas in the mission and he said that this spanish area has been the most difficult for him to find prospects. We have been good about keeping a good attitude and doing all we can to find. We always come home super tired and go to bed an hour early so that we can be ready for the next day! I have learned a lot these last 3 weeks about what diligence really is. You feel like nothing is going right, but you still know what you are doing is right, and it is the best feeling. Being exhausted at the end of the day and thinking that you had such a long day that was filled with busy finding hours is awesome. Then I've found myself realizing that we didn't find many people-and if we did, they spoke English and we had to give them to the English missionaries. That can be so tough. But we have found how to stay focused on the light at the end of the tunnel. We have a strong feeling someone is waiting for us to find them, so we are checking every crack in our area. Please keep us and our area in your prayers. We need it. Prayer is powerful so please please pray for us and the area.
Love you all
-Elder Owens
