UPCOMING BAPTISM!!

Angel had his interview and he is going to be baptized this Saturday at 4:30!! He is doing great and is focused on this big step in his life! He keeps saying his only concern is getting his hair wet! He is just so ready. The Branch is loving them so much and taking them all in like family and Angel is making so many friends.

We are wrapping up this transfer (my second transfer in Stafford). When President told me in interviews that I would be opening this area, he told me that I would be here for 4 transfers-which is 6 months. He said that he wanted me to plant my feet and build relationships with the people here. I was also told that it is a test area, which means we are being put in to see if there is enough work here for both us and the Hermanas. He asked us how that was going and I told him it was going well so we will see what he does in the next couple transfers for this area.

For a little spiritual thought I wanna talk about blessings from diligence. In my interview, President asked me how my Spanish was going and I said "not great, but okay". He asked me if I knew why I was companions with Elder Moye. I said, "President, frankly I have no idea". He said that it was for Spanish. He said he needed me to be able to teach lessons by the time I leave Elder Moye. We are guessing that is 2 transfers away. So in three months, I need to be fluent in church Spanish. That sounds impossible for me. One of my biggest challenges has been Spanish. He said to pray for the gift of tongues. I left that meeting with him and decided to change it all. So now instead of just our 1 hour of language study, I am doing an hour in the morning, an hour for lunch, an hour for dinner and an hour after we get home at night. 5 HOURS. I am going crazy but I have been doing that, praying for the gift of tongues and focusing on my faith. Through that I have seen so much change. It's remarkable. So be diligent but only through the Lord.

Love you all, Elder Owens
