MOY LOCO DOS SEMANAS

Super crazy couple weeks but there has been a lot to learn!


First I gotta share something crazy that happened last week. So we were leaving our first lesson of the night (on Saturday I believe) and we were waiting at a red light in the left turn lane. The light turned gren and then basically right in front of us in the intersection there was a pretty bad accident. We got out and were trying to help a guy that was the most hurt and he was pretty out of it. I was checking him for back cuts or broken bones and couldn't find anything which was good. The ambulance came and checked him out and that's the rest I know about him but hopefully he's okay. But it was interesting to give my first witness report.


I'm trying to remember everything but it's so hard cause it's been a crazy couple of weeks! I'll say a couple big things though.


One of my companions in my trio got emergency transfered! This last Thursday night at 10:15pm, he got a text from President that he was getting emergency transfered and was leaving at 7 A.M. the next mornong. This was crazy news so we packed him up until like 2 A.M. and woke up and he got picked up and was gone. It was so crazy! So then at 12 he called us and said that President said that they were going to come stay with us for a few days while some problems settled down-so now there are 4 of us that have to live in the same room and to state the obvious it us very crammed and I'm on the floor hahaha. It's been an interesting experience but they officially leave tomorrow morning for good which is going to be sad to say bye, but it's okay cause I'm sure I'll see him later.


My little spiritual thought is from a talk our mission president gave in stake conference yesterday. He spoke about the talk by Elder Rasband who shared about the way President Nelson shares the gospel and the Book of Mormon. We took that to heart and actually tried to teach a lesson that way and it actually went super well! So that was another witness to me of the truthfulness of the importance of prophets and apostles and taking their example into missionary work. One of the best scriptures to share is Moroni 10:3-5 and its about Moroni's promise of receiving answers through prayer. - A wonderful dinner and lesson with our new Columbian investigators. They came from Columbia 1 1/2 moths ago and moved in to this apartment 1 week ago and already had us over for dinner they are awesome

We had an amazing week!  We had an awesome lesson with Angel about commandments and different things like that and he was super into it. We also asked him how he was feeling about baptism and he said he was super excited. But he also said he was nervous for one thing....he's scared to get his hair wet. He gave us a little scare but it was pretty funny. We also had a lesson with Mario and Omar and they are so awesome! We talked about prayer and the spirit and they had so many questions-it was great! At the end Mario told us that his wife needs to hear all this (they care for someone and can't leave at the same time) and gave us her number to reach out and that has gone great as well. We also got to make papusas with them which were delicious!!! We had an exchange with our Zone Leaders this week and that went great. It was super fun to see them again! This last Saturday was 2 years since my friend Dallin passed away and that was hard to think of, but it is helpful to know the won...

Temple!!!!

We had 3 temple trips this week!!! We worked two shifts for the open house of the Virginia Richmond Temple. The first started on Wednesday evening and it was amazing. I just loved feeling the spirit there. We were able to take some older people in wheelchairs through, it was a blessing. They are amazing and have great testimonies. Thursday morning Elder Moye and I got to the temple early and we were able to go inside when no one else was there and take a tour. We then got to sit in the Celestial room alone in a silent temple! What a miracle it was. I am so grateful for that experience. Sorry this email is a quick one I don't have much time. Saturday morning we got a text from Brenda (Angel's aunt) saying that they could go to the temple! It was the only day they could go! Another temple miracle. We had an amazing time with them and Brenda told us afterwards that she had to stop herself from crying before she walked into every room! Love, Elder Owens Pictures

Ummm EARTHQUAKE!!

The mtc is wonderful! I am so busy all the time and it's awesome to be busy but I'm so tired! It's been a wonderful p-day, so nice to relax. I have been so surprised with the love that all the workers have for the Missionaries.  A lot of them like to mess around but even with that they are still so happy!  I met these two natives and it was super cool to talk to them in Spanish but I realized I'm not doing as good as I thought lol. It was super cool to meet them though.  Elder Hugo Montoya from the 70 came and spoke to us yesterday. At the end of his wonderful lesson, he let us all know he will be speaking in the first session of conference I believe. After he told us that he shook everyone's hand and I was one of the lasts so I shook his hand, grabbed his shoulder and said,"I hope we can all make you proud". So I am definitely going to be in his talk so be ready for that. Alright now for the earthquake. It's so crazy that this happened. September 19th...
