Long time no talk! My mom tells me that people have been talking about me not sending emails as frequently.  My apologies! But, I'm not getting any emails either soooo.... I love my mission. It's more than I could ever have hoped for. Nothing is better than being in the service of our God. I've seen miracles. God's hand. He is here, in each of our lives. I know it because I've seen it. We have seen it with so many of our friends. I'm going to mention 1 specific experience, one special boy. Santiago. He is amazing. He is Israel. There are some pictures of his Baptism that I attached to the email. He has a long story. To sum it up, his parents are not members and he is the pioneer of his family. He also turned 9 recently. We have taught his family for about 2 months now and they have not missed a single Sunday. His parents are amazing! They are so loving and want the best for their son. They want to be baptized as well and were excited to do it as a family. But fo...

Kristian! He's being baptized! I'm sorry it has been so long since I have written an email. We have been busy in the work and I'm grateful for it! Ever since being here in Henrico, we have been busy busy busy!! There are so many miracles! Our church building is in the shadow of the temple and because of that, we are seeing the work of the Lord increase as people feel of the spiritual power here! When I picked up Elder Mortimer, Kristian showed up at the church where we were holding transfers and said he wanted to come to church and be baptized! We have taught him ever since and he will be baptized this Sunday! He has been prepared by God for this. We are super excited for him! Please have him in your prayers! We have many friends that are also progressing that we plan to invite to be baptized soon! Please pray for the people we are teaching to accept baptism!! Love Elder Owens! Photos

WEEK 1 IN HENRICO AND ELDER MORTIMER

Hey Y'all! I hope everyone is doing well and you are all living the gospel! We had a pretty amazing week! I can't even remember the beginning of the week while I was in Tappahannock. Friday, I was transfered to Henrico to come whitewash the area with a new trainee! His name is Elder Mortimer!  Coming into this new area, I was praying to find people that were prepared and ready for us. The previous missionaries had no one they were teaching. And a miracle happened! Right as I picked up my trainee, someone came to the church (because he saw all the missionaries there for transfers) and was talking about being baptized. The missionaries that talked to him got his information and he lives in our area! His name is Kristian and he is so prepared! He came to church and talked to us about being baptized as soon as he can. He was previously taught and says he wasn't ready then but he is ready now! Thank you for your faith and your prayers!  I'm very excited to serve here in Henr...

This week was a rough week! For multiple reasons!  This week, a tropical storm came through NC and VA and specifically messed with our area. We had previously been doing the absolute best that I have done my entire mission and this storm really messed with it. All of our friends have fallen off Baptismal Date. Church got cancelled and with that, our friends that were excited to come, couldn't come! We were out of our area (in Richmond) for an exchange and that went very well! We then had an exchange with Scotchtown and they came to our area. It was the same day everyone was running to the store for supplies and no one wanted to talk to us. We couldn't stay as long as we wanted-the bridge was going to shut down so we had to hurry across to get home.  Anyways. We need prayers. Please pray for our progressing friends that they will receive the Baptismal Covenant. Some are close. Some it will be a journey. But all will make it. Please pray for them. As we work diligently, we know ...

Amazing.

Wow. We had an absolutely amazing week! We have done some good things here in Tappahannock! I am loving my mission and would recommend one to everyone! It's the best 2 years. I've been reflecting recently on the time I've been out for and realizing how small 10 1/2 months are! I only have that amount of time left! How crazy is that!! This week we put 4 friends on date to be baptized and that now makes 5. We found many new friends as well. This pace is the pace I want to continue to have for the rest of my mission! That would be amazing! Please pray for Vanessa, Billy, Guadalupe, Faith and Jay! They each need help on this Covenant path! Love you all!  -Elder Owens
