Keep Pushing.

Image
This week was a pretty hard week but I have learned a lot from it. It is very hard having a very small group of members and we can't seem to get more people to church no matter what we try. It has hit me a lot this week and has been a struggle for me. But there are always good things. We have a member that has a 16 year old son that we have been teaching. He has said no to baptism but this last week he let us know he thinks he is about ready! We are praying that we can get him to fully want to be baptized this next couple weeks. It is very possible. His name is Cristobal so everyone please keep him in your prayers. Alright something interesting is we had exchanges this week and I lost my wallet on the exchange which means I can't go onto the military base for church until I see if they will let me use my passport and all my cards are gone so I don't have any money. Hahah it is kinda hard but it's okay. Now my topic of keep pushing. It was a pretty hard week but I've...

Day 2...Wait Week 2 Already

So crazy!! The time has gone by so fast! But I'm loving every second of it! We went to the doctor on Tuesday for Elder Ruger and his poison ivy and we were there for like 3 hours. They gave him a prescription and he decided he didn't wanna spend the money on it so then we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and spent his money there. In other words we have our priorities straight...uhh haha We have a lot of service! I forgot to mention in the last email about this experience but we got to help move a lot of furniture out of a house. The guy that owned the house was there and he told the main guy over us that it's his daughter's house and she had passed away and left behind a couple kids. He was donating all of her stuff to the group we do service for-it was a humbling experience. On Sunday we have church and we get to go to the Fort Lee military base for the Fort Lee branch.  We had sacrament meeting and then Sunday School. The military members that come have to come with a ...

Virginia WOW...

I love this place. It was sad saying goodbye to my district. I love them all and from what I know they are all doing great and that's been good to hear!! I got to Virginia last Tuesday and I threw up 3 times in airports... I was not having a good travel day but that's okay because when I got to Virginia we went to the mission home and these amazing senior missionaries made us a homemade meal. I was scared I was going to throw up but I ate and literally immediately felt so much better-it was the besttt. The next day all the greenies (new missionaries) went to the church and had orientation and then after that we went to the gym and sat in random chairs. They went in alphabetical order of announcing companions. Before that I had gone up to a couple missionaries and talked to them and what's funny is we got assigned to be a trio-it was so cool!! I'm in Hopewell Virginia, it is a small town and our ward, I mean Branch, I mean "group" has 7 active members! This was...

Elder Owens

Dear Brother and Sister Owens, President Hutchison and I welcomed your son, Elder Owens into the Virginia Richmond Mission this afternoon.  After picking him and the other missionaries up at the airport we traveled to the mission home for dinner and a short orientation meeting.  They will all stay in a local hotel tonight and join us in the morning for training and transfer meeting where they will be assigned their first companion and trainer, and depart for their respective area assignments.   You can look forward to hearing from your son on preparation day, which is Monday. Sincerely, Sister Cary Hutchison VRM Mission Leader

Questions To Ponder

Hi everyone!     Caiden sent us a quick message this morning.  He had a really neat experience he shared with us and wanted us to pass on a couple questions for everyone to ponder.     "What are we without Christ?"     "What are we with Christ?"      Elder Owens said: Invite our family and those that we know to study that and really think what we would be without Christ if we were still here today on the earth and if we still had agency-where would we be? Then seek every part of Christ in every single one of those reasons. Every part. Love you guys so much. PLEASE do this and PLEASE share this. Invite people to share and ponder that. It opened my eyes to every part and every reason why we need Christ. Love you guys!!     FYI-Caiden heads to Virginia tomorrow and we aren't sure if we will get an email this week.
